The Maritime Administration Issues the License for the Delfin LNG, LLC Deepwater Port Application

WASHINGTON – Today, the Maritime Administration issued a license authorizing to Delfin LNG, LLC, to own, construct, operate, and eventually decommission a deepwater port, to export Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) from the United States.
 
The Delfin LNG, LLC deepwater port facility will transport LNG to the global market from the United States (U.S.) Federal waters, approximately 37.4 to 40.8 nautical miles off the coast of Cameron Parish, Louisiana.
 

U.S. Department of Transportation’s Maritime Administration Announces New Action to Unleash American Energy

WASHINGTON – On Friday February 14, 2025, the U.S. Department of Transportation’s Maritime Administration (MARAD) announced the issuance of the Texas Gulflink LLC (TGL) Record of Decision (ROD) to Sentinel Midstream, LLC, which will own, construct, and operate a deepwater port for the export of domestically produced crude oil. This action supports President Donald Trump’s Unleashing American Energy Executive Order that was signed on January 20, 2025.

Maritime Administration Releases New Diverse Mariner Workforce Recruitment Strategy

WASHINGTON—The U.S. Department of Transportation’s Maritime Administration (MARAD) released its first Diverse Mariner Workforce Recruitment Strategy to assist the six State Maritime Academies (SMA) and the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy (USMMA) in strengthening the next generation of the nation’s mariner workforce.  This strategy focuses on identifying and enhancing the incoming talent pool of individuals joining the mariner workforce that remains vital to national security and economic prosperity.

U.S. Maritime Administrator Reflects on the Many Accomplishments of the Administration During Her Tenure

WASHINGTON – On January 12, 2025, Maritime Administrator Ann C. Phillips, Rear Admiral, U.S. Navy (Ret.), departed the Maritime Administration (MARAD).
