Mr. Cameron “Cam” V. Gore serves as the Maritime Administration’s (MARAD) Deputy Chief Counsel. With nearly three decades of public and private sector legal experience, Cam leads a team of attorneys committed to support MARAD’s programs, and initiatives to advance, promote, and sustain the U.S. merchant marine and maritime industry.
Cam’s principal areas of legal practice span many areas, including legislation & regulatory compliance, government procurements, contracts, litigation, construction, real & personal property, leasing, environmental & historic preservation, energy & utilities, vehicle fleet management, and public-private partnerships. Cam’s prior Federal experience includes service at the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, including as Chief Counsel for Real Property. In that capacity, he managed a high-performing team of 18 attorneys and engaged with other Federal, state, and local governments, businesses, and stakeholders on a myriad of issues regarding veterans, their dependents, and survivors. Cam also has significant private legal practice experience, including most recently with his own law firm in the DC Metro area.
Cam has a B.A. in finance from Penn State University, and a J.D. from American University’s Washington College of Law. He is a member of the D.C., Maryland, and Virginia bar associations and several Federal courts.
