Maritime Transportation System National Advisory Committee (MTSNAC) Meeting Information
MARAD's Maritime Transportation National Advisory Committee (MTSNAC) is a Federal advisory committee that advises the Secretary of Transportation through the Maritime Administrator on matters related to the Marine Transportation System, or MTS, and its seamless integration with other segments of the transportation system, including the viability of the U.S. Merchant Marine.
Originally established in 1999 and mandated by the Energy Independence and Security Act of 2007, the MTSNAC is codified at 46 U.S.C. § 50402 and operates in accordance with the provisions of the Federal Advisory Committee Act (FACA), as amended, 5 U.S.C. ch. 10.
